RALPH PETER OLSON
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of a loving husband and father, Ralph “Ralphy” Olson. On February 6th, 2021, Ralphy passed away at his home in Moose Jaw, SK at the age of 72 years with the love of his life Mavis by his side. Ralphy was born in Moose Jaw in 1948 and grew up around Assiniboia, SK. Ralphy was a Journeyman Painter who worked at the Potash Plant located at Belle Plaine, Saskatchewan for 43 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends especially in his back yard where he loved to BBQ, have a cigarette and a cool refreshing beer. Ralphy cared about his wife and family so very much. He was the type of man who would give the shirt off of his back to anyone that needed it.
Ralphy enjoyed bowling, golfing and RVing. At the age of 50, he took up skiing and enjoyed skiing out at Buffalo Pound Lake, where he practiced and then headed out west with his skills to ski the mountains at Banff and Kananaskis. Ralphy and Mavis also had many foster children come through their home over the years. They both provided a loving home environment for them to enjoy while there.
Ralphy is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Mavis; sons, Trevor Olson (Debbie Morrison) and Randal (Clare) Flying Buffalo; daughter, Tara (Jason) Copp; foster daughter, Dianne Eddibar; foster son, Dennis and Vicky Escobar; grandchildren: Cassidy, Kayleigh, Dakota, Jeremy, Sara, Juliette, Jenessa and Rogan; great-grandchild, Brayden; sisters: Betty Warn, Susan Wendzina and Terry Harrison; brother, Dennis Olson; as well as many generations of nieces and nephews. Ralphy will be missed by many but will be looking down on us from Heaven above. We will love you always and forever.
The family would like to thank Dennis Escobar for the love and support he gave to Ralphy, especially in his final days with us. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you Dennis so very much.
A Private Family Service will be held to honour Ralphy. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
My deepest heartfelt condolences to Mavis, Randy, Trevor and their families.
