Mauna Elizabeth Oen
We are saddened to announce the passing of Mauna Elizabeth Oen aged 90 years of Moose Jaw, SK, on Friday, December 8th, 2023, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family.
Mauna grew up on the family farm in Admiral, SK. She met Arnold Oen and started their life together in Moose Jaw, raising 5 daughters. Mauna was a wonderful Mom and Grandma. Her door was always open to her many friends, old and new. She had a witty sense of humour and lust for life.
Mauna loved the Blue Jays, travelling, playing cards with friends, the casino, and the comfort of her home (940) since 1965. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Arnold; son-in-law, Brian; granddaughter, Madeline; sister, Alea; brother-in-law, Lyle; and parents, Hattie and Austin. Mauna will be forever loved and is survived by her daughters: Marleen (Ted), Barb, Shelley (Tim), Michelle, and Monica (Brad); grandchildren: Brook, Jarrett, Jordan, Cody, Dixie, Austin, Kirsten, Eden, and Evan; and her many great-grandchildren.
Our family would like to thank all of the staff at Home Care for their support.
A Celebration of Mauna’s Life and interment with her husband in Admiral, SK will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
Thinking of you Monica. Sincere condolences. Talked with your mom earlier this year when I delivered Meals on Wheels. She was cheerful and very friendly.
