Mervin James Novak

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Mervin James Novak on Sunday, February, 5th, 2017, with his family by his side.  Merv was born on July 26th, 1958 to Emily and George Novak.  He loved nothing more than to have his family and grandchildren spend time at the cottage at Buffalo Pound Lake.  Family was very important to Merv.  He was predeceased by his father, George Novak; brother, Delbert; twin sisters, Lorraine and Loretta; and mother and father-in-law, Lillian and Edward Lane.  Mervin leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother, Emily Novak of Melville, SK; wife, Wendy; sons: Curtis (Amy) Novak, Jeff Novak, and Ryan Novak of Moose Jaw, SK; five very special grandchildren: Brady, Aubrey, Ellie, Lilly and Audrina; brothers, Dennis (Joyce) Novak of Melville, SK and Darrel (Shauna) Novak of Regina, SK; sisters, Gayle (Sid) Squires of Moose Jaw and Paula (Dario) Hernandos of Ontario; sisters and brothers-in-law: Bev (Dennis) Zerr, Cheryl Wowk, Penny (Kelly) Weins, and Robert (Marcia) Lane, all of Moose Jaw, Mike (Kelly) Wowk of BC, and Stewart (Donna) Lane of Paynton, SK; Godson, Peter Novak; and Goddaughter, Jennifer Novak.  The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the Palliative Home Care nurses for all of their care and support.  A Celebration of Merv’s Life will be held on Friday, February 10th, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Merv’s name may be made to STARS Air Ambulance, 2640 Airport Road, Regina, SK S4W 1A3 or the Palliative Care Program Five Hills Health Region, c/o Crescent View Clinic, 131 – 1st Ave NE, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 0Y9.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Todd Sjoberg, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
