I meet Mr. Nielsen when I was with my dad George when he was roughing IN the plumbing at a house many years ago. And by the way your dad laughed don’t call me Mr just call me Doug the picture shows him best he always had a smile and what you see is what he was a very honest and hard working man who took pride in whatever his doing. To all the family my sincere condolences Greg Nicholls.

To the Nielsen family,
We are sorry to learn of Doug’s passing. I first knew Doug from playing basketball against him in high school. He was one of the reasons that the Toilers were the best team in the province. Over the years we’d occasionally meet and he was always friendly and ready to have a visit. Our condolences to Edna and the family.
Sorry to hear of Uncle Doug’s passing. He was one of my favourite Uncles growing up and it was always a treat to see Uncle Doug when we were able to get to Moose Jaw. A really great guy!!
Dear Mrs. Nielsen, I send my condolences to you from me personally and from the small Bible Study Group in which your son Dave has played a most active role. We know from Dave, that he was raised by two incredible parents in a loving home! One of my daughters has four sons and another of my daughters is raising three sons. It is their belief, and I think mine as well that if you raise a family of only boys and if you have more than two of them that God gives you direct access to heaven! My thoughts have been very much in Moose Jaw this week and my prayers have been sent up that this milestone event of your husband’s passing will be accompanied by a heavenly peace and a warmth and perhaps even a joy that can only come from our Heavenly Father.
We send the deepest.sympathy to Edna, Brad, David, Len and families for the loss of one of our dearest long time friends, Doug. Many fond memories, including a spectacular visit to Winnipeg for a Riders game where we climbed a ladder and changed a scoreboard sign in favour of the Green and White.
We will miss our annual visits to Moose Jaw and his sociability. May he Rest In Peace.
Vicky, Warren and family.

To Mrs. Nielson, Brad, Dave, Len & families,
We are all so saddened to hear about the loss of Mr. Nielson. We lived on the same street as your family growing up and remember how involved and dedicated he was with his family and others. He always greeted us with smiles and genuine concern about how we were doing. He will definitely be remembered for his kindness. May you find comfort in knowing that he touched many lives in a very positive way which is part of his legacy. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Nielsen family,
It was a privilege to grow up around the Nielsen household in the 70’s. I remember Doug coaching Dave and I with the Huskies. I remember playing road hockey in front of the Nielsen house on 2nd Ave NE and I remember playing lots of golf at the MJCC and traveling to junior tournaments with Doug and the Nielsen family. It is a testament to Doug as a man and a father to see the quality sons he has raised. All the best to Edna, Brad, Dave and Len and their respective families.

My deepest condolences to Edna, Brad, Dave, Len and Families,
I’m sad to hear of Doug’s passing. I was one of those people who had the pleasure of knowing Doug as a Coach in elementary school, as my friend Dave’s Dad and as a Contractor who I worked with during my career later in life. It was always a great to see him and talk about everything from sports, politics, work and family….always with some humour or a laugh no matter what the subject was. Doug certainly helped me out more than once over the course of my life and I greatly appreciated knowing him. He will be missed for sure, but never forgotten.
Sincere Sympathy to the Nielsen Family on the passing of Doug. May you find comfort in knowing you were kind and caring during his Earthly Days. Cherish the Good Memories, particularly his Cheerful ways. Thinking of you during this difficult time. Take Care, Marnie and Wayne Ralph and Family, Cochrane AB.
