Sheldon James Nicholson
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sheldon James Nicholson of Yorkton, Saskatchewan on January 27th, 2012. Sheldon was born on December 25th, 1966 at Central Butte, Saskatchewan and was raised in the area. Sheldon loved the agricultural life and spent much of his early years with his close friend Shane on the Oram family farm. From an early age Sheldon knew that he wanted to be in the cattle business as an auctioneer. He attended the World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City, Iowa and began his auctioneer career winning many auctioneer competitions throughout the years. At his passing he was the Manager of the Heartland Livestock Services in Yorkton. Sheldon and Jean were married on July 22nd, 2006 and brought together a family of 5 children. Sheldon’s boys, Sean and Glenn, were joined by Jean’s children Andrew, Michael and Stephanie in a crowded and happy household. Sheldon said that his second job was The Yorkton Exhibition where he sat on the Board of Directors and was a past President. He gladly volunteered many hours and was proud of his involvement in the community. Sheldon was predeceased by his father, John Delwin (Shorty) Nicholson and his sister, Theresa Lynn Nicholson. He is survived by his wife, Jean (Pauls) and children Sean Nicholson, Glenn Nicholson, Andrew Lessmeister, Michael Lessmeister and Stephanie Lessmeister (Ryan Halushka); his mother Mavis Nicholson of Central Butte and brothers Blair (Michelle) of Regina, Tim (Barb) of Calgary and Warren (Robyn) of Cranbrook; as well aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews. Sheldon will also be missed by the Oram family who are all part of his extended family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, February 2nd, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Tugaske Community Hall, Tugaske, SK. Reverend Rick McCorrister will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to a trust fund that has been set up for the kids at the Scotiabank in Yorkton, SK.
