Ronald Edward Nicholson
On Wednesday, January 21st, 2015, Ronald Edward Nicholson was reunited with the love of his life, Marg, after a long 10 ½ year wait. One of 11 children, Ron was born on August 11th, 1933 to Anna and Ted Nicholson in Watrous, SK. He moved with his family at the age of 7 to Moose Jaw where he attended King Edward School and Peacock Technical Institute. It was in Moose Jaw that he met and married Margaret Klassen and they raised their family. Ron’s favourite things included drumming in the pipe band, wood working, reading, music, hunting, fishing, horseshoes, cards, and of course enjoying a wee nip of scotch, 2 fingers neat. Ron will be lovingly remembered by his 5 daughters and their families: Elizabeth Brennan (Terry), sons Eric Oxborrow and Jordan Oxborrow (Christy) and their children Brady and Toby; Marian Steinhauer (Glen), sons Shane and Josh; Heather Nicholson, sons Tyler (Andrea), Carter and Jared Astleford; Alison Grado (Troy), daughters Kirsten, Jenna and Katelyn; Judy Cannon (Jim), sons Ryan and Riley. He will also be missed by the Nicholson Clan and his in-laws, the Klassen family, as well as many friends. The family would like to give a special thank-you to the amazing team at Pioneer Lodge for the loving care they gave to Ron. A Celebration of Ron’s Life will be held on Sunday, January 25th, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Wildlife Centre, 1396 3rd Avenue NE, Moose Jaw, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ron’s name may be made to the FHHR-Pioneer Lodge, 1000 Albert St, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 2Y2. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.
