John Bewley Newton
John Bewley Newton, aged 89 years of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, passed away on Thursday, March 10th, 2011. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 17th, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Rev. Allen Doerksen will officiate and burial will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. John is predeceased by his wife Mary Mildred; parents Joseph and Elizabeth Newton; sisters Jennie (Albert) Hindley and Isabelle (Tom) Carr; brother Tom (Lee) Newton. John will be lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews Nancy Brandiezs, Douglas Carr, Mary O’Connor, Pat Newton, Jim and Tom Newton, Joe Hindley, Corinne Andreas and numerous other relatives. John was born October 26th, 1921 in Moose Jaw. He attended Ross School and Tech High School. He worked for the CPR from 1944 to 1982 when he retired. John married Mary Smith on July 18th, 1964 in Toronto, Ont. He was an active member of St. Barnabas Anglican Church. John and Mary enjoyed traveling. John enjoyed curling and watching football and hockey.
