Alexander Nein

Alexander Nein, aged 92 years of Gravelbourg and formerly of Chaplin and Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Tuesday, July 23rd, 2013.  The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 30th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  Pastor Marvin Seaborg will officiate and interment will take place at Memory Gardens, Swift Current, SK.  Friends may meet at the cemetery at 2:30 p.m.  A Time of Visitation for Family and Friends will be held on Monday, July 29th, 2013 from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  He was predeceased by his wife, Martha (1991); daughter, Darlene Hammer (1992); son-in-law, Carl Hammer (1982); sister, Katie May and brothers, Bill Nein and Richard Nein.  Alex will be lovingly remembered by his son, Ken (Louise) Nein; grandchildren: Rod Hammer, Paul (Corinne) Hammer, Audra (Marcus) Hammer, Robert Nein, Dennis (Karen) and Sheryl Nein; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Eddie (Leona); and sisters, Marion Wolsley, Emma Hoffmeyer and Joyce Henslien.  Alex started working at Sask Minerals Sodium Sulfate Plant in Chaplin, SK in 1946 and was employed there until his retirement in 1984.  After his retirement, he dug dugouts and helped farmers during farming.  He enjoyed camping and dancing.  Alex has resided at Mulberry Estates in Moose Jaw since 2003, moving to Gravelbourg in August 2012.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Alex’s name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Sask., 279 3rd Ave. N., Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Calvin Gammel, Funeral Director. 306-693-4550.
