The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 30th, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. in the Morse United Church. Pastor Bill Thomson of Trinity United Church in Moose Jaw will officiate. He is survived by one brother Donald (Josephine); one niece Tara (Phillip) Tkachuk and one great nephew Jeffrey Tkachuk; and his extended family, daughter Shannon Thiessen (Paul Waldner); grandchildren Marshall, Morgan and Mathew. Art and Judy were married in 1975 and resided in Morse, Saskatchewan. Art and Judy’s home was always open to their family and friends. Many evenings Art took to the violin and Judy to the guitar and soon a sing-along was born. Both Art and Judy loved the outdoors including golfing, camping, fishing and best of all, the fish fries! Art and his brother Harold frequented the northern lakes. They even trekked to Grey Owl’s cabin from Lac La Ronge. Art farmed the land south of Ernfold until his retirement. An auction sale was held April 24th, 1992, with neighbours coming from near and far. Art, in his youth attended Wild Flower School through his elementary and part of his High School education. He was a self-taught mechanic and looked after all the machinery himself. He made a snow blower attachment for his tractor to clear the yard and the road to Ernfold for the neighbours. He was well loved by all and will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
