Lylia Pearl Murray
Lylia Pearl Murray (nee Gray) born September 1st, 1935 in Moose Jaw, SK., passed away surrounded by family after a short illness on Friday, October 8th, 2010 at Saskatoon’s St. Paul’s Hospital. She is predeceased by her husband, Henry Robert Murray, her father, George Gray and her mother, Gladys Gerard (Gray). She is survived by her children, Roberta Longpre (Joe), Margaret Wright (Brian), Maxine Lowick (Gordon), Blair Murray (Jan Venier), John Murray (Karyn), Tracy Luciak (Ken) and Patrick Murray (Colette). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and other extended family. Throughout her life, she worked at Providence Hospital, the Capitol Theatre, Fysh Drug Store and St. George’s Nursery School. She enjoyed 9 years living at Crestview Manor where she served on a variety of committees and valued the friendships made with other tenants. She shared her love of God in the varied tasks she did within the Moose Jaw Salvation Army and through working by her husband’s side as he pastored the seniors at the First Free Methodist Church. However, her most cherished role was that of mother. Lylia’s happiest moments were dedicated to her family and she will be remembered for sewing, knitting, cake decorating and her love of reading. She will be sadly missed by her family and those whose lives she touched. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 16th, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Thomson of Trinity United Church officiating. A private family interment will take place following the reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 455 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, SK. S6H 1H3 or to a charity of one’s choice.
