Henry Robert Murray
Henry Robert Murray, born September 6 th, 1933 in Estevan, SK., passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 29 th, 2007 at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital. He is predeceased by his father, John Robert Murray, his mother, Nellie Margaret Murray McNeil (Bassingthwaighte) and his brother, William Murray. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lylia Pearl Murray, his children, Roberta Longpre (Joe), Margaret Wright (Brian), Maxine Lowick (Gordon), Blair Murray (Jan Venier), John Murray (Karyn), Tracy Luciak (Ken) and Patrick Murray (Colette). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Patricia Murray and other extended family. Henry was an enthusiastic educator fulfilling the roles of teacher and school principal in Moose Jaw for 35 years. Upon retirement he worked for the Salvation Army Social Services, served as pastor for the seniors at the First Free Methodist Church for a number of years, followed by caring for those in need at the Parkview Funeral Home and the Moose Jaw Funeral Home. He cherished the time he spent working with children, funeral home staff and his seniors. He lived with Lylia at Crestview Manor for the past 6 years and valued the friendships made with other tenants. Henry’s happiest moments were those spent with his family and being of service to others. He will be sadly missed by his family and those whose lives he touched. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 1 st, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in the Moose Jaw Funeral Home ( 268 Mulberry Lane ) with Pastor Wade Fitzpatrick officiating. Private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Moose Jaw Union Hospital Foundation, 455 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw , Sk, S6H 1H3, or a charity of one’s choice.
