She is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Dave) Hales and Cynthia (Donnie) Muir; her son, Brian Muir; her sister, Olive (George) Gillespie; her two grandchildren, Sherri and Kenneth Hales; and several family members scattered throughout Canada, USA and Norway. Violet came into this world on July 27th, 1931 born at Lake Alma, she was raised and schooled in the Beaubier area. Her next step in her life’s journey was to attend Miller International College of Bible in Pambrun, Saskatchewan, where sadly her dreams of being a missionary to India did not come true. After two years at Bible School, she went to work in the Glen Ewen / Estevan area and that is also where she met and married her first husband Ken Muir. Due to Ken’s job with SaskEnergy, they saw much of Saskatchewan until they finally ended up in Moose Jaw and stayed there until sadly Ken passed away in 1984. After Ken’s passing, she later met and married George Mountney and moved to Wawota to live and help look after his farm. Ten years later had them moving back to Moose Jaw where they stayed until George’s passing in 2010 and then her own. Violet spent a great deal of her employment life working in Home Care and she continued to do so even after Ken’s death. She was a lover of all types of animals and three canines held a special place in her heart, Tammy, Precious and Buster.
