Leonne Irene Morgan
Leonne Irene Morgan, aged 76 years of Moose Jaw, SK passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 3rd, 2018. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Morgan; parents, Omer and Cecile Gaucher; and sister, Vivianne Caron. Leonne is survived by her children: Raymond (Tracy) of Regina, SK, Roger of Brooks, AB, and Yvonne (Jonathan) of Regina, SK; brother, Rene (Sandy) Gaucher of Morin, AB; sister, Louise (Gilbert) Bouvier of Lafleche, SK; grandchildren: Rachel, Teanna, Alexandria, Emily, Joshua, Dana, Noah, and Ritchie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Leonne was born on November 2nd, 1941 in Moose Jaw, SK. She was raised on the farm outside of Coderre, SK until leaving the homestead to work in Moose Jaw. In the early 1960’s she convocated from the Canadian Vocational Training School in Saskatoon as a Certified Nursing Assistant (LPN). On July 1st, 1966 she married Thomas Glyn Morgan in Moose Jaw, SK. They spent a short time residing in Port Coquitlam, BC before making Moose Jaw their permanent home. Leonne’s first priority was raising her children until they were in school. She worked at the Providence Hospital and Union Hospital over the next 30 years. Leonne and her husband made the move to the farm during that time, staying there until her husband’s passing in 1992. In 2001 Leonne retired from nursing. Leonne was a devoted caregiver and nurturer, and it showed in her career and family life. She enjoyed baking, gardening, raising chickens and turkeys on the farm, and canning. In addition, she enjoyed socializing over coffee with friends, visiting and playing cards. In her younger years, she enjoyed camping and fishing and could be found early mornings at the Trout Pond at Buffalo Pound. In her retirement years she was an active member in the Elks, was an avid Bingo player, and enjoyed screen time playing online games. Leonne also loved to spend quality time with her grandchildren and took pleasure in watching them grow. A Celebration of Leonne’s Life will be held on Saturday, February 10th, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in the Royal Canadian Legion, 268 High St W, Moose Jaw, SK. A private family interment will take place at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Leonne’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
