Raymond Moore
Raymond Moore, aged 75 years of Moose Jaw, SK., passed away Thursday, November 4th, 2010. A Memorial Tea will be held on Wednesday, November 10th, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Ray worked at CPR for 44 years. Dad loved to coach minor sports and coached Pony Little League Ball (1962 Pony League Champs), Minor Girls Fastball, Little League Baseball and Church Minor Hockey. He was instrumental in developing Band City Minor Hockey (Tier Hockey) in 1973 and 1974. Dad and Mom loved to holiday, making their first winter holiday to Maui, Hawaii in 1980. They loved their time snowbirding in Lake Havasu, Arizona for the past numerous years. Dad loved his time golfing while Mom went gambling. In the summer of 2009, they celebrated their 50th anniversary with family and as a gift from their kids, were sent to Hawaii – the sight of their first extensive holiday. Dad loved his Chicago Blackhawks and was fortunate to see them hoist the Stanley Cup this past season. He truly loved the game of hockey and would openly engage any hockey fan in a spirited conversation. Dad loved to golf and was a member of the Lynbrook Golf Course for years. In a twist of bitter irony, he was out playing golf the day he was taken from us. He was very excited in that he “finally” got to golf in Saskatchewan in November. He passed on his passion and dedication to coaching to all of his children and even after all of these years, anytime he ran into someone he coached, they would stop and say “Hi Coach”. That in itself shows what an impression he made in their lives. Dad loved to dance. Whether a wedding dance, social, or whatever the occasion, he and Mom would be out on the floor. He had a lifelong passion for music and the “Tunes” were always on in the vehicle, house or in the backyard while “Soaking up the Rays!” He loved his gardening and the time and care he put into his flower bed never went unnoticed. Dad and Mom were well known in Moose Jaw for their walks. Even before Dad’s passing, they would be seen walking for miles. They loved to walk to the A&W for coffee with their friends. Ray was a great husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. Ray was predeceased by his parents W.J. and Elizabeth Moore; sisters Eileen and Betty; and brothers James, Bill, Douglas, Myron, Melville and Ken. Ray will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Carolle; children Greg (Lisa), Kevin (Shaunna), Michelle and Cory (Raelynne); grandchildren Brady, Cody, Lyndon, Meagan, Marissa, Amy and Connor; brother Gordon and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.
