Gloria Jean Moffatt
After a courageous battle with cancer, Gloria Jean Moffatt passed away on Saturday, January 3rd, 2015 at the age of 68 years, with family by her side. Gloria is survived by her husband, Larry; daughters, Darla and Leanne; and granddaughter, Abigail; as well as her sisters: Joyce (Bill), Laviah (Gordon) and Mardell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Gloria was born on December 6th, 1946 in Eatonia, SK to Alice and Peter Nunweiler, who predeceased her. She grew up in a loving family with three sisters. Gloria went to Saskatoon Business College and went on to work at SaskPower after remaining at home for several years to raise her daughters. Gloria married Larry on August 10th, 1968 in Eatonia. They went on to live in Saskatoon, Kindersley and then Moose Jaw in 1974, where they raised their two daughters. Gloria had a passion for music. She loved to sing, direct choirs and play piano. After retirement in 2007, Gloria spent countless hours with her great group of friends. They went swimming, went for walks and coffee, shopping and lunches. When diagnosed with cancer in 2012, she remained dedicated in all that she did and in her will to fight her illness. She remained a brave, strong woman, even throughout her final months. The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, January 11th, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 15 Paul Dr, Moose Jaw, SK with Reverend John Kreutzwieser officiating. The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at the Palliative Care Unit at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina, as well as Home Care in Moose Jaw. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Palliative Care Unit at the Pasqua Hospital. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.
