Kenneth Johannes Moen

Kenneth Johannes Moen: It is with great sadness we announce the death of Kenneth Johannes Moen on Sunday, February 25 th, 2007. Kenneth was born on September 9 th, 1925 on the homestead near Jefferson. He was the eldest of three children born to Arne and Mary (McKinnon) Moen. He attended school at Jefferson. In 1941, after the death of his parents, Ken and his siblings Sarah and Arne moved to Reston to live with family. He enlisted in the Army in 1944 and served overseas in England and Holland. Following his service, he moved back to the homestead where he farmed actively until 1994. He married Laurina Seierstad on May 11 th, 1947 and they had five children. Ken was predeceased by his father (1933) and mother (1942); stepfather Tom Ditch (1975); brother Arne (1968); sister Sarah (1994); wife Laurina (1993); and granddaughter Shannon (2000). He is survived by children Mary Ellen (Doug) Immel and their children Nikole (Will), Grant, Nadine (Chad), Nola; Peder (Laure) and Joanna; Heather (Brian) FitzGerald and their children Alison (Rorke) and Andrew; Warren (Brenda) and their children Adriana (Rob), Melisa and Marielle; Kathy (Glenn) Connor and their children Becky, Laura and Heidi. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 1st, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Rev. Doug Shepherd will officiate. Interment will take place at a later date at Zoar Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ken’s name to Iver Main Place Inc., Central Butte, SK S0H 0T0 .
