Elizabeth Mintenko
Elizabeth Mintenko of Moose Jaw , Saskatchewan passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at the age of 97. A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane . Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery . Pastor Terry Murphy and Fr. Walter Smith will officiate. Elizabeth was born August 28, 1909 at Lady Lake , SK and married John Mintenko in 1923 at Preeceville , SK. They moved to the Belle Plaine district where they farmed until 1935, then moved to the Cobourg district and farmed until her husband’s passing in 1967. Elizabeth then moved to Moose Jaw where she resided until her passing. Elizabeth was a faithful and devoted member of the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church and was very active within the St. Anne’s Ladies Aid where she spent many hours preparing perogies and cabbage rolls. Elizabeth is predeceased by her parents Dmytro and Mary Galan; 11 siblings; husband John Mintenko; sons Steven and George Mintenko; grandson Mickey Mintenko; son-in-law Jim Simpson; and daughter-in-law Winnie Mintenko. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter Helen Simpson; daughter-in-law Jean (Jack) Mintenko; sister Kay (Tony) Greba; sister-in-law Anne Galan; grandchildren Sandra (Vern) Gunnlaugson; Tom (Cheryl) Simpson; Greg (Maureen) Simpson; John (Brenda) Simpson; Stephanie (Harvey) Schofer; Doug (Teresa) Mintenko; Robbyn (Jeff) Mintenko-Cresta; Lori (Brad) Bowden; Geri (Mark) Musson; Ralph (Nadine) Mintenko; Mary(Terry) Mintenko; Jeff Mintenko; as well as 29 Great Grandchildren, 11 Great Great Grandchildren and numerous other relatives. Flowers are gratefully declined.
