Josephine “Josie” Jean Miller
Josephine “Josie” Jean Miller (nee Maga), born September 11th, 1939 passed away on Monday, July 6th, 2009 with her husband and sons by her side, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Josie was predeceased by her mother Steffa and her father Peter; her sisters Francis and Nellie; her brothers Charlie and Peter; and her grandson Mathew. She is survived by her loving husband Gerald; her sons Gregory (Michelle), Arlen (Kathy), Kelly (Maureen) and Leslie (Val); her grandchildren and one great grandchild; her sisters Mary, Georgina, Marjorie and Stella; her brothers Stanley and Ed. Josie and Gerry were married on June 22nd, 1959 and had just celebrated 50 years together. She enjoyed watching sports with Gerry, playing golf, fishing, camping and especially spending time with her family. Josie’s great joy was her grandchildren and her great grandson. She liked doing crossword puzzles, playing cards, jigsaw puzzles and had a talent for sewing and crocheting. She was a collector of dolls. Josie and Gerry enjoyed their winter holidays with her sisters and brothers-in-law. She always managed to make every occasion fun. Halloween and getting the kids dressed up was always special to her. Josie was also a member of the Catholic Women’s League. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 10th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Father Neil Osiowy will be presiding celebrant. Prayers will be held on Thursday, July 9th, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. A private family burial will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Josie’s name may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, c/o the Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, Sask. S4T 7T1
