Thelma Magdeline Mews

Thelma Magdeline Mews of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan passed away on Wednesday, August 5th, 2009 at the age of 85 years. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 12th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Thomson of Trinity United Church officiating. Thelma was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Jessie Bryde, husbands Gordon Muldoon and Herbert Mews, her brothers Nelson and Red, and her son-in-law Ed. She will be missed by her children Linda Downey, Dennis (Bonnie) Muldoon and Marsha Muldoon, step-children Albert (Mary) and Ken (Barb); her brother John “Jack” (Arlene); 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and extended family. Thelma attended Luscombe School. She lived and worked in Winnipeg for 4 years, before returning to Moose Jaw. It was here that she married and started her family. Due to illness, she went to live in Fort San for a year and a half. When she was well she raised her children, first on the Muldoon farm near Crane Valley and then in Moose Jaw. She married Herb Mews and they lived in the Moose Jaw area until their retirement. Thelma will be sadly missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations in Thelma’s name may be made to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 455 Fairford St. East, Moose Jaw, Sask. S6H 1H3.
