Florence Lena Message
Florence Lena Message (née: Frentz) aged 88 years of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, February 23rd, 2024.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jim; father and mother, George and Fanny Frentz; father and mother-in-law, Herbert and Catherine; siblings: David (at birth), Eleanor, Raymond, and Annie Dietrich; siblings-in-law: Doug Padfield, Leroy Moats, Hugh Sanderson, Johnny Dietrich, John Zabolotney, Charles Heyn, Isabelle Moats, Martin Luesink, and Florence Padfield. Florence is survived by her son, David (Carolyn); daughter, Marlene (Darren) Johnston; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Jaime (Reid) Goodwin, Trigg and Quinn, Justin (Ashley), Tucker and Cooper, and Nicole (Chris) Agar, Hudson and Ivy; siblings: Sophie Zabolotney, Vera (Cliff) Fontaine, Gordie (Yvonne) Frentz, Marjorie Luesink, and Edith (Bill) Esau; along with many nieces and nephews.
Florence was born on the family farm near Ormiston, SK. She married the love of her life, Jim, on October 18th, 1958, in Moose Jaw, SK. Together they farmed on the Message homestead until retiring to Regina in 2015. She was an active member of Ormiston Baptist Church. Florence will forever be remembered for her cooking, baking, magic fingers (seamstress), love for her family, and her strong faith in God.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 8th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Bill Luther will officiate, and a private family interment will take place in Hillcrest Cemetery, Avonlea, SK. Those not able to attend may view the service virtually by going to www.moosejawfuneralhome.com/webcast/. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Florence’s name may be made to Operation Smile, 375 University Ave, Suite 204, Toronto, ON M5G 2J5.
