Leon Meginbir
Leon Meginbir passed away suddenly on Friday, April 4th, 2014 in Saskatoon, SK. Leon was born on July 20th, 1932 on a farm near Vantage, SK. He started farming at age 17, and often proudly noted that he had actively farmed for 55 years. He was a committed member of Cornerstone Church in Mossbank and supported the Glad Tidings Bible Camp for many years. He was predeceased by his parents, Arnold and Lydia; infant brother, Gerhardt; and sister, Lorrette. Leon is survived by his wife of 49 years, Anne; sons, Dale (Nyla), David (Katherine) and Carl (Carolyn); and grandchildren: Caleb, Ayden, Flynn, Hannah and Eli. He is also survived by sisters, Ruth Rice (Wendell) and Irene Peters (Walter). A Celebration of Leon’s Life will be held on Friday, April 11th, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor Barry Gammie will officiate and interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Leon’s name to Glad Tidings Bible Camp Mossbank, Box 100 Mazenod, SK S0H 2Y0 or Child Evangelism Fellowship Saskatchewan, 74 Marquis Cres, Regina, SK S4S 6J9.
