Donalda “Mickey” McKenzie-Bastell
Donalda “Mickey” McKenzie-Bastell, aged 88 years of Moose Jaw, SK passed away on Thursday, November 11th, 2021. Mickey was born at Vermillon, AB where she worked on the family farm. She married Glenn Beckman and raised a young family by herself after Glen was killed in a farm accident. Mickey married Don McKenzie in 1972. Don passed away in 2011. She later married George Bastell and she continued to reside in Moose Jaw until her passing.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Glenn Beckman; 2nd husband, Don McKenzie; grandson, David; and sister, Lorna. Mickey will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 8 wonderful years of love and laughter, George; a blended family of 7 children, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brother, William Daley.
A Memorial Tea will be held on Friday, November 19th, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Harvey Room at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. A private family interment will be held at Sunset Cemetery with Pastor Dan Goddard officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Mickey’s name may be made to the FHHR Home Care Palliative Program c/o Crescent View Clinic, 131 – 1st Ave NE, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 0Y9. George and family we were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Mickey. We will miss chatting wither her down at the Senior Center. We know you will cherish your happy memories of her. George; We were so very shocked and saddened to learn of Mickey’s passing. Seeing her on Wednesday at noon, it was hard to realize would be the last time. We send our deepest sympathy to you and her Family, please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
