Morley Wayne McKechnie
Morley Wayne McKechnie passed away peacefully in Regina, SK on Thursday, January 25th, 2018 at the age of 73 years. Morley was born December 2nd, 1944, the second child of Earl and Thelma McKechnie, and was raised on the farm in the Bethune area. Morley married Cathy Fuchs on July 29th, 1968. Morley and Cathy lived in the Bethune area and had 3 children: Angie, Perry and Deanna. Morley worked many jobs for rural phone companies, Ipsco, and the Canadian Grain Commission, had his own businesses (Morley’s Bobcat Service and Morley’s Ag Sales), and farmed on the McKechnie Homestead for many years, where Morley and Cathy have lived since 1984. Once he retired from farming, he took over the family garden, which quickly grew into the Market Garden that Morley and Cathy have been operating together for 15 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Earl and Thelma; Cathy’s parents, John and Ida; brother, Jim; sister-in-law, Tillie; brother-in-law, Willis; and brother-in-law, Brian. Morley will be missed by his loving wife, Cathy; daughter, Angie and her family Jinelle (Jesse), Dylan, Tyson, and Kylin (Emily); son, Perry (Shannon) and his family Tyler (Lily), Gates, Jace, and Brees; daughter, Deanna (Shawn) and her family Aiden and Anna; sister, Doreen (Garry); sister-in-law, Marie; brother-in-law, Edward (Doreen); brother-in-law, David (Karen); sister-in-law, Lorraine (Chuck); as well as many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 29th, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the K+S Potash Canada Community Hall in Bethune, SK. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Morley’s name may be made to the Bethune Cemetery, Box 209, Bethune, SK S0G 0H0. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.
