Barbara Jean McIntyre
Barbara Jean McIntyre, aged 61 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Wednesday, August 26th, 2015. She was predeceased by her father, George Gunn. Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Dorothy Gunn; her partner of 25 years, Larry Marr; sons, Lyle (Jennifer) McIntyre and Greg (Laura) McIntyre; grandchildren: Julia, Nathan, Elin and Bryson; sister, Carolyn (Mark) Clark; brother, Neil (Laurie) Gunn; as well as numerous other relatives. Barb went to Queen Elizabeth elementary school and later attended A.E. Peacock Collegiate. In addition to raising a family, Barb worked in retail for 30+ years for such stores at the Town’N’Country Mall as Smart Set, Irene Hill, Cleo/Dockside/Young Canada/Ricki’s/Bootlegger and finishing with Gingerbread Square. Barb and her sister Carolyn shared an enthusiasm for studying their family genealogy which led to a couple of very special trips to Scotland. While Barb and Larry lived on their acreage south of Moose Jaw, Barb enjoyed caring for her numerous cats, dogs, chickens, ducks, cows and horses — each had a name and a special place in her heart. But Barb’s greatest passion was her family and friends and having them to visit and socialize with. Whether you knew Barb as a wife, mother, sister, grandparent or friend, you got to experience Barb’s kind hearted, patient and nurturing personality. A Celebration of Barbara’s Life will be held on Saturday, September 5th, 2015, with a short program to start at 1:00 p.m., in the Harvey Room at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Flowers are gratefully declined. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Barbara’s name may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre c/o Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Ave, Regina, SK S4T 7T1. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Todd Sjoberg, Funeral Director 306-693-4550.
