Donna Mae McInnis
On Saturday, August 9th, 2014 Donna Mae McInnis, beloved wife of Lorne McInnis, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the age of 71 years. Donna was born in Summerside, PEI on June 24, 1943 to David and Gladys Ball. She graduated from Chaplin High and went on to become a registered nurse from the Regina General Hospital in 1963. Donna and Lorne were married on June 26th, 1965. They made their home on the family farm at the Aquadell district, and later retired to Moose Jaw. Donna’s greatest joys were her family and treasured time spent with her grandchildren. Donna was blessed with a green thumb and took great pride in her flower garden, especially her roses. She also enjoyed cooking and sewing. In her later years, her pride and joy was quilting. She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Bill; and father and mother-in-law, Don and Audrey McInnis. Donna is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Lorne; her three sons: Brent (Lori), Paige, Jill, Nathan; Greg (Barb), Jordan, Kayla; Troy (Amy), Liam, Cally; her sister, Dorothy Ball; brother, Gordon (Shari); as well as many special nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. A Celebration of Donna’s Life will be held on Thursday, August 14th, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor Marvin Seaborg will officiate and interment will take place at a later date in Chaplin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Donna’s memory may be made to the Aberhart Centre to assist new transplant patients and their families: Aberhart Centre, Room 8219, 11402 University Ave, Edmonton, AB T6G 2J3.
