Elspeth Aileen Hume Bergin McGhie was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on June 8th, 1929, and was the sixth and last surviving child of Charles and Elizabeth Hume.  Her elder brothers were James, Gordon, Douglas, Russell and Clifford.  Aileen attended Sisters of Sion Convent in Moose Jaw (now Vanier Collegiate), then Hatfield Hall, a finishing school in Cobourg, Ontario and nursing training at the Grey Nun’s Hospital in Regina.  She married her first husband Fred Bergin, a Canadian born American, and moved to Los Angeles in 1951.  There she had 4 sons: Fredrick, Charles, Robert and Roger; and a daughter, Berva; along with nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  Her second husband, Russell McGhie, predeceased her.  Aileen was a vivacious and charming hostess who had many friends in Moose Jaw, and will always be remembered as a compassionate, loving woman who had time for everyone and treasured life.  She touched us all in her own special way and will be truly missed by everyone.  A Private Family Service will be held.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  James Murdock, Funeral Director. 693-4550.
