Jean Mary McFadden
It is with great sadness that the family of Jean Mary McFadden announce her passing on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024. Jean was born September 3rd, 1932, at Tuxford, Saskatchewan to John and Mary Cook. She attended South Lake School at Tuxford and Peacock High in Moose Jaw, SK, graduating with a business certificate in 1949. Jean worked at several businesses in Moose Jaw. She married Dale McFadden in 1957, and they started farming in 1967 in the Tuxford area until they retired in 2016.
She was involved with the Moose Jaw Exhibition Company since 1963 as a volunteer, and on the Board of Directors for over 15 years. She belonged to the Progressive Conservative Association, Sask Party, and the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool. Jean and Dale enjoyed dancing and playing cards with the many friends they made over the years. She especially enjoyed the time spent with her two granddaughters, Breana and Calista, as they were growing up.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dale (2018); and daughter-in-law, Linda (2019). Jean leaves to mourn, her son, Randy (Carol); daughter, Melody (Marlowe) Norberg; granddaughters, Breana (Matt) Vandenberghe and Calista Norberg; and great-grandchildren: Ava, Ella, and Easton Vandenberghe.
The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 29th, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor Marvin Seaborg will officiate and interment will take place in Sunset Cemetery. Those not able to attend may view the service virtually by going to www.moosejawfuneralhome.com/webcast/. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Jean’s name may be made to the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan, 200-4545 Parliament Ave, Regina, SK S4W 0G3. Most sincere condolences to Jeans family. I had the pleasure of meeting her during one of Tom’s campaigns. What a lovely lady. Rest in peace Jean.
