Donald Allan McDonald
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Allan McDonald, aged 74 years of Moose Jaw, SK on Friday, May 4th, 2018. Don was born in Melfort, SK on January 29th, 1944 to Donald and Francis “Muriel” McDonald. He attended Walter Murray Collegiate in Saskatoon, SK and then completed his Electrician course at STI in Moose Jaw, SK. He worked for Hickson & Morgan Electric in Saskatoon and then became Owner/Operator of Aim Electric for the Regina/Moose Jaw area until he retired in 2007. Don was an extremely hard worker that took a lot of pride in his work and liked to keep busy all the time, you could find him outside doing yard work, in his shop or the garage and was always fixing or building something, from a double garage, a complete kitchen addition, to the new deck, shingling, siding and cement sidewalks as well as building Dog houses for the Humane Society’s annual fund raising auctions. He loved spending time with his daughters Lianne and Danielle and grandson, Brayden. Don and Sharon enjoyed attending Brayden’s hockey games and cheering on the Montreal Canadiens, Moose Jaw Warriors and the Roughriders. He spent a lot of time at Greenwater Lake at his brother Ken’s cabin, which was the place where the family always got together. Don loved living at Buffalo Pound Lake with Sharon. Family and friends were most important to him and he loved getting together playing cards, crib, numerous board games and just socializing in general, he was always the jokester making everyone laugh. Don would always lend a helping hand or the shirt off his back to anyone in need! Don had 3 dogs over the years, Keemo, Buddy and Rocky, each one special in their own way, he never got too far without one of his furry companions by his side. He was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Francis “Muriel” McDonald; brother, Robert “Ken” McDonald; and infant sisters, Helen and Muriel McDonald. Don will be lovingly remembered by his spouse of 36 years, Sharon Hardowa; daughters, Lianne (Kevin) Johnson and Danielle (Cas) Wolfe; grandson, Brayden Johnson; brother, Douglas “Neil” (Donna) McDonald; sister, Margaret “Elaine” (Jerry) Andres; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Don’s Life will be held on Thursday, May 10th, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Harvey Room at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Flowers are gratefully declined. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Don’s name may be made to The Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658 Station Main, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 9Z9.
