Thomas Mayson
Thomas Mayson, aged 92 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Thursday, October 30th, 2014. He was predeceased by his parents; and sisters: Annie, Elsie and Evelynne. Thomas will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Clise; children: Diana (Harry) Burnham, Dr. Thomas Mayson, Ron (Debbie) Mayson, Doug (Sherri) Mayson and Paul (Karen) Mayson; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Thomas was born on May 8th, 1922 in Crestwynd, SK and grew up on the family farm. He enlisted in the Armed Forces in 1940 and was assigned to the Black Watch Regiment. He was a part of the motor platoon during WWII and was very proud of his service to his country. After the war, Thomas settled in Chaplin, SK and married Clise Schantz. He was employed as a welder at the Sodium Sulfate Plant. They moved to Moose Jaw in 1953 and worked at Sask Power Corporation until his retirement in 1982. Thomas enjoyed hunting, fishing and life at his cabin, his garden and being outside. A highlight for Thomas and Clise was their trip to Europe and Alaska. Many thanks to our friends for their visits these past few years. A Celebration of Thomas’ Life will be held on Tuesday, November 4th, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor Marvin Seaborg will officiate and Legion Rites will be conducted by Chuck MacMillan of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #59. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Tom’s name may be made to The Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund, 268 High St W, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1S8.
