Amelia (Burkart) Marnach

It is with mixed emotions that we, John, Sharon and Lorraine, inform you that our Mother, Amelia (Burkart) Marnach, aged 89 years, passed away on June 23rd, 2010.  However, we find comfort in our belief that she will be reunited with our Dad, who predeceased her in 1988.  Peter and Amelia married in 1943 and moved to Marquis.  They farmed and worked side by side until 1974 when they moved into Marquis to retire.  Mom was an active member of the Community and she was a long-time member of the CWL.  Mom had a passion for people and she was always willing to help no matter what.  She will be deeply missed by her family and friends who will remember her kindness, generosity and feisty spirit. Amelia is survived by one granddaughter, Susan Schafer; two grandsons, Grant Howard and Christopher Wimbs; one great-grandson, Bradley Howard; 3 sisters, Genevieve Cannon, Philipine Koehler and Christine Burkart; and 2 brothers, Robert and John Burkart. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 29th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in St. John’s Catholic Church, Marquis, SK.  Father Louis Nguyen will be the presiding celebrant.  Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery.  A Prayer Service will be held on Monday, June 28th, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Saskatchewan Inc., 301 – 2550 12th Ave., Regina, SK., S4N 7K3.
