Kenneth Metro Marcyniuk
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Kenneth Metro Marcyniuk on Friday, June 22nd, 2018 with his loving wife by his side. Ken was born on June 29th, 1948 in Moose Jaw, SK and was baptized in the Ukrainian Catholic faith. He lived almost his entire life on the same block in Marquis, SK. At a young age he started helping his dad on the farm and at his dad’s John Deere dealership, Metro Equipment. Ken attended St. Mark’s school in Marquis, St. Vladimir’s College in Roblin, MB, St. Peter’s College in Muenster, and Saskatchewan Technical Institute where he obtained a welding certificate. He married Marilyn Busche on November 15th, 1969 in Moose Jaw. He was predeceased by his parents, Metro and Mildred Marcyniuk; parents-in-law, Harold and Hazel Busche; and nephew, Bill Busche. Ken will be deeply missed by his wife, Marilyn; children: Shauna Boldt (Ed), Travis (Jodie), Kimberley Marshall (Jason), and Nicole; he was incredibly proud of all his grandchildren: Kajia, Riley, Hayden, Noah, Tyson, Keira, and Boden; his siblings: Barb Gregory, Betty Dishington (Scott), Tim (Shelley), Greg (Sheila), and Michael (Elaine); brother-in-law, Keith Busche (Kay); sister-in-law, Myrna Busche; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Ken was currently serving as Mayor for the Village of Marquis. He will be remembered for his love of trucks, John Deere tractors, farming, fishing, frequent trips to the Ukrainian Co-op for garlic sausage, running into someone he knows everywhere he goes, his numerous collections which included belt buckles, hats, John Deere toys, coins, tractors, vehicles, signs, key chains and bottle openers, and his diverse interest in music, from Johnny Horton to Pentatonix. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 27th, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in Hillcrest Apostolic Church, 1550 Main St N, Moose Jaw, SK. Pastor Marvin Seaborg will officiate and a private family interment will take place at St. John’s Cemetery, Marquis, SK. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Ken’s name may be made to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 55 Diefenbaker Drive, Moose Jaw, SK S6J 0C2.
