RUSSELL DAVID MALLORY
May 8th, 1945 to June 11th, 2023
Russell David Mallory aged 78 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Sunday, June 11th, 2023. Waiting for Russ to join them were his parents, Russell and Elizabeth; and brothers, John and Robbie. Left to keep the party going and cheer on his beloved Riders are his beautiful wife of 56 years, Percy; children: Brad (Karen), Mike (Tracy), and Michelle Sitavanc (Brad); seven amazing grandchildren: Danita (Brittany), Jocelyn, Jaylen, Peyton (Danniela), Kamryn, Joe, and Barritt; faithful furry companions: Riley, Spadger, and sometimes Boo; sisters, Betty Ann Williams and Sherry Unique (Pete); sister-in-law, Dale Mallory; Percy’s brother, Charles Dumba; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends. Russ was born in Leeds, England and travelled with his mom on the Queen Mary to be with his dad in Canada in 1946. Russ lived in Regina, SK for all his childhood and teenage years. He met the love of his life and his soulmate Percy in 1966 and together they raised their family, moving around Saskatchewan when he worked for Acklands until they returned to Regina, and he retired early. Russ and Percy continued to work together and found themselves in the restaurant business. They spent 9 years in BC working together but family brought them back to Saskatchewan, where they have made Moose Jaw their home for the last 13 years. In his younger years, you could find Russ on the ball diamond, a hockey rink, coaching his boys’ teams, or playing the organ at a hockey game in North Battleford, SK. If you couldn’t find him there, you could definitely find him at the Legion on a Friday night. Russ loved his family more than anything and nothing brought him more joy than to have us all together. He will be forever loved and missed. Papa, you will always be our sunshine. A Come and Go Celebration for Russ will be held on Wednesday, June 14th, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. at the house in Moose Jaw – 1145 5th Ave NW. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Cara Ashworth – Intern Funeral Director 306-693-4550
