Helen Elizabeth (Cradock) MacLachlan

Helen Elizabeth (Cradock) MacLachlan of Moose Jaw and formerly of Brownlee passed away with her family by her side on Tuesday, January 9th, 2007 at the age of 86. Helen, the only child of Ernest and Lucia Cradock, was born on the Eskbank family farm on January 4th, 1921. She attended Eskbank School and graduated a Registered Nurse from the Regina Grey Nuns Hospital . Helen married her Eskbank sweetheart, Garath John MacLachlan on December 28th, 1945. Over the next few years, she nursed at the Lampman and Central Butte Hospitals during the winter months, and they returned to Eskbank during the summer to farm. She also did some private duty nursing. She had a love for horses and German Shepherd dogs and passed that love of animals onto her children and grandchildren. Mom had a great love for hockey, she never missed a game watching her son play and later her grandson’s. Mom and Dad loved to travel and spending winters in Arizona . After Dad passed away, Mom moved to Brownlee and later to Moose Jaw . Helen was predeceased by her father Ernest (1967) and her mother Lucia (1980); husband Garath (1978); and infant grandchildren Darren and Marnie Neff. She leaves to mourn her loss, daughter Faye Neff (Ron Burnell) and grandson Ryan of Brandon, MN; daughter Wendy Busch of Brandon, MN; daughter Janice (Tim) Finiak and grandsons Jason Finiak (Melissa Bjornson); Kelly Finiak and granddaughter Alissa Finiak all of Moose Jaw, SK; son Robert (Shanon) MacLachlan of Moose Jaw, SK and grandson Shain (Alison) and great grandson Cameron of Brandon, MN; granddaughter Kaily and great grandson Landyn of Moose Jaw, SK; and grandson Jay (Maureen) Luch and their daughter Alyx of Parksville, BC; as well as lifelong friends Eileen and Arnold Torgerson and Peggy and Dugald MacLachlan. A Public Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 16 th , 2007 from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane . The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 17th, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home, with Interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery . Rev. Rick McCorrister will officiate.
