Dorothy Florence Mackie
Mrs. Dorothy Florence Mackie, of Providence Place, Moose Jaw and formerly of the Chaplin district, passed away on Friday, March 7th, 2008 at the age of 93 years. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 12th, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Pastor Marvin Seaborg officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Born on January 13th, 1915 at Valjean, Sask. Dorothy and her husband Bill Mackie farmed in the Valjean district. She moved to Moose Jaw in 2001 to live at Ina Grafton Gage Home and later Providence Place. Predeceased by husband Bill in 1984; two infant children: Stuart Mackie and Bevie Mackie; son-in-law Grant Fisher; daughter-in-law Linda Mackie; four brothers and one sister. Dorothy is survived by her five children: Deanna Fisher of Calgary, Doug Mackie of Chaplin, Sandra Mackie of Moose Jaw, Jim Mackie of Chaplin and Francie (Norm) Schonhoffer of Calgary; seven grandchildren: Darren (Sherri) Mackie of Swift Current, Trevor Mackie of Medicine Hat, Grant (Lorna) Mackie of Moose Jaw. Kori Fisher of Saskatoon, Craig (Jen) Fisher, Stacey (Simon) Pols and Lesley Schonhoffer all of Calgary; six great-grandchildren; sister Joan (Bill) Morgan of Lethbridge; brother Jim (Ruth) Ball of British Columbia and sister-in-law Dorothy Hales of Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Providence Place Resident Council, 100-2nd Ave N.E. Moose Jaw, SK S6h 1B8 would be appreciated by the family.
