Florence Clara MacDonald passed away peacefully with a dear friend Bonnie Binner at her side, on Thursday, February 26th, 2009. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 6th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. She came to Saskatchewan in May of 1923, when she was 18 years of age, to live with her Aunt and Uncle on the farm south of Ardill. She married a farmer, John MacDonald in November of 1925. She loved the farm life with all the animals and gardening. All the neighbours started to call her Floss which went with her throughout her lifetime. They had a family of two – a son Donald (Bud) and a daughter Bernice. John passed away in 1964. Bud continued to farm and his mother stayed with him. Floss left the farm when she was 95 years old and Bud passed away in 2002. Floss lived at Chez Nous Seniors Home until June of 2008. She moved to Extendicare and resided there until her passing. The family would like to thank all the staff at Chez Nous and Extendicare for their kind and gentle care of Floss. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband John; son Bud; and sisters Maud, Fan, and Gladys. Floss is survived by her loving daughter Bernice (Al) Fox; one sister Vera Crowe of Swift Current; many nieces and nephews; and many loving friends. Memorial donations in honour of Florence may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
