Douglas Gordon MacAuley
Douglas Gordon MacAuley of Riverhurst, SK, passed away suddenly at his home on December 31st, 2015 at the age of 73 years. He was born in La Ronge, SK on March 2nd, 1942, the son of McIvor and Greta MacAuley. Doug’s love for aircraft maintenance took him all over Canada. A career that started in La Ronge at a young age, included 30+ years with the Air Division of the RCMP. Following a brief retirement, it was back to his early beginnings, La Ronge. He worked for the Saskatchewan Government, Northern Air Operations in La Ronge until December of 1999. Following his 2nd retirement, a final move to Riverhurst and this began his true retirement. He was a true outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and gardening. He was very well known for his sense of humour and teasing, and was always willing to lend a hand. Doug is survived by his wife of 49 years, Elizabeth Jean “Beth” (née Haley); daughter, Linda Uhl; grandchildren, Heather and Ryley; brother, Charlie MacAuley; as well as several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 7th, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. in the Riverhurst Community Hall, 115 Main St, Riverhurst, SK with Dave Foley officiating.
