Ian Maurice Duncan Lowe
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Ian Maurice Duncan Lowe, aged 66 years of Moose Jaw, SK, on Tuesday, June 9th, 2015. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Gwendolen Lowe; sister, Betty Cooper; and brothers-in-law, Ray Cooper and Neil Cunningham. Ian is survived by his wife, Lynn; children: Tracy (Jason) Roney – children Alyssa, Brooklyn and Hailey; Trent (Angela) Lowe – children Kurtis, Michael, Kaleb and Tyson; and Kelly (Trevor) Hubick – children Cooper and Emery; sisters, Judy (Larry) Miller and Georgina (Paul) Daniel; brother, Trevor (Narrie) Lowe; as well as Lynn’s parents, Bill and Greta Smith; sisters: Lorna (David) Spencer, Terry Cunningham (Bill Heron), Rita (Kelly) Fitzpatrick, Joan Smith (Ed Van Ham) and Gail (Mike) Kramer; as well as several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and many, many dear friends. Ian was born on April 23rd, 1949 and was raised in the Briercrest/Baildon area. In 1970 he married the love of his life, Lynn Smith. They moved to Vancouver for 1 1/2 years, then his passion for farming brought them back to the family farm near Baildon. They raised their three children on the farm and were very involved in the Briercrest Community. Ian was a part of the Briercrest Lions Club, BRIC Briercrest Rural Involvement Club, MS Society Moose Jaw Support Group, and was continuously involved in many Briercrest events. Ian was diagnosed with MS in 1982 and one of Ian and Lynn’s goals was to not allow this to affect their family and community involvement, and they definitely accomplished this goal over the years. He was very appreciative and humbled by the community’s support and generosity. Ian always had a smile on his face and loved to tell stories reminiscing of special moments in his life shared with many friends and family. He never missed a thing, lived a very meaningful life and instilled his positive values in his family. He lit up every time the grandchildren were around and he loved to brag about each and every one of them. His family and friends were most important to him and he cherished every moment he had with them. He will be dearly missed. We will hold those memories close to our hearts forever and ever. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 13th, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. in Minto United Church, 1036 7th Ave NW, Moose Jaw, SK. Glenys Grosenick will officiate and interment will take place at Sunset Cemetery. A special thank you to the Maguire Centre staff and clients for their friendship and support through the years.
