Norman Lockyer
It is with sadness that the family of Norman, announce his passing. Predeceased by parents Cecil and Lola, brothers Ray (Kate), brother Albert (Mary), sister Julie (Mike), brother in law Frank, father in law Ernest Munroe, nephew Brian and special friend Michael German and family. Norman leaves to mourn his wife of 33 years, Erna Del, son Eric (Paula), daughter Christine (Chris), son Steve and grandchildren Stephanie and Donovan; sisters Pearl Nosworthy and Gerty (Edgar) Adams; brothers Wallace (Jean), Eric (Linda), Fred (Christine) and Heber (Linda); sister in law Rita; mother in law Elda Munroe, great grandmother Gladys Lamb, Brent (Nancy) Munroe, Vince (Landis) Munroe, Tracey (Robin) Munroe; extended family Irene and Bernard German (Mother and Father), Beric German, Fred (Gloria) German, Tom (Marilyn) German, Dan (Gail) German, Doris Mthembu; and many nieces and nephews. Orphaned at the age of four, Norman and his four older brothers were raised in the Anglican Orphanage in St. John’s Newfoundland. He was a self made man – no project was too big for him. He enjoyed building. Norm had a great love for family and was generous with children. He enjoyed music, collecting and repairing broken things. He saw value in discarded items. Norm loved to debate, often leading to heated discussions. He had a deep love for world events and history. Norm enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved to travel. The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 2 nd, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the Central Butte United Church . Rev. Rick McCorrister will officiate and interment will take place at a later date.
