Sherilee Levay
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sherilee Levay (Reimche) at the age of 40, after a hard fought battle against breast cancer. She is loved and remembered by her children, Jesse and Jenna and their father, Jim Levay; parents, Sheila Reimche (Moose Jaw) and Reg Reimche (Woodrow); brother, Reg Reimche (Red Deer, AB); close cousins Laura Teeling, Carmen and Daryl Reader and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Sherilee was predeceased by Elmer and Margaret Reimche, Albert and Thelma Lockhart and her cousin, Jeff Teeling. She was born on May 20th, 1970 in Moose Jaw but was raised on the family farm at Woodrow. After becoming an LPN in Calgary, Sherilee moved into the world of banking, completing her career as an Assistant Manager with CIBC. Sherilee was in the thoughts and prayers of many relatives and friends who marvelled at her exceptionally positive attitude and her concern for others, despite her illness. Sherilee was a classy lady whose beauty remained until the end. Her home was always open to Jesse and Jenna’s friends, and all were welcome. Sherilee told her story at many functions and was actively involved in cancer awareness activities. She was the founder of the 2009 Cancer Survivors Calendar and worked closely with many others to make a difference. The family would like to say special thanks to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre doctors and staff, the Home Care workers and the Cornerstone Christian School. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 16th, 2010 in the Hillcrest Apostolic Church, 1550 Main Street N. Reverend Philip Siggelkow will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in trust for the children’s education at the CIBC, 204 Main St. N., Moose Jaw, SK. S6H 3J8.
