Leila Eunice Duffin
Leila Eunice Duffin (née: Ellard), aged 100 years of Moose Jaw, SK passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 23rd, 2021 with her family by her side.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Marshall; parents, Florence and Lorne; brothers: Hugh, Cameron and Cliff; and daughter, Marsha (Joe) Lasson. Leila is survived by her daughters: Marilyn (Dennis) McMillan; Claris (Allen) McMaster, Gwen (David) Venn, and Lori (John, deceased) Bennett; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Norma (Joe) Campbell; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Leila received her education in Mortlach, SK, later receiving her teaching degree at the age of 40 and her B of Arts at age 52. She taught at rural schools around Langruth, MB and junior high school in Portage la Prairie, MB while farming and raising their children, and the last years at Central Collegiate in Moose Jaw.
Leila was a life member of the Royal Purple in Portage la Prairie, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Canadian Legion and Cosmo Senior Center in Moose Jaw.
Her presence in our lives will be missed.
A Private Graveside Service will be held at a later date. Flowers and cards are gratefully declined. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Leila’s name may be made to the Cosmo Senior Center Building Fund, 235 3rd Ave NE, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1C9. Gwen and Norma I am saddened to hear of Leila’s passing.I know she was a great friend of my parents.My Dad and Cameron were RCAF together.Dad was very shaken by his loss.I remember Dad talking about Leila many times.
