Lloyd George Lawson
On October 20, 2009, Lloyd George Lawson, late of Extendicare Moose Jaw, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 88. Lloyd was born on the family homestead near Lake Valley, Sk. on September 16, 1921. After serving his country during World War II, Lloyd married Joyce Maureen Shaw in England, June 28, 1947 and moved to Moose Jaw soon after. Together they raised four children, welcomed eight grandchildren, and were blessed with five great-grandchildren with a sixth on the way. Lloyd worked for CP Rail and was a long-time employee of Canada Post until his retirement in 1986. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Joyce, in 2001; his parents, Harry and Florence; his sister, Eleanor; his brother, Jim; his sisters-in-law, May and Norma; and his brother-in-law, Joe; as well as Joyce’s family in England. Lloyd will be lovingly remembered by his children – Linda (Vern) Wellwood, Tracy (Sid) Hanover, Bob (Gail), and Heather (Dave) Landa; his grandchildren – Jamie (Darcy), Rob, Kerri-Ann (Evan), Kevin (Jessica), Jennifer (Trevor), Kristy, Tasha (Mike) and Cole (Shantal); his great-grandchildren – Rhett, Reese, Noah, Camryn, and Ashton; his siblings – Dorothy, Don (Helen), Betty (Michael), and Gary (Sandra); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Pastor Marvin Seaborg officiating. A private burial will take place at a later date.
