Peter “Bob” LaRocque
Peter “Bob” LaRocque, aged 79 years of Moose Jaw, passed away on Saturday, December 29th 2007. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in Church of Our Lady (566 Vaughan St). Father Tony Sevali will be Presiding Celebrant. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, December 31st from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home (268 Mulberry Lane). Predeceased by 6 sisters and 4 brothers; Bob is survived by his wife, Dorothy; sisters: Louise Bruse of Moose Jaw and Edna LaRocque of Sudbury, ON; his children: Grant LaRocque and family of Alberta, Hope LaRocque (Dennis) of Alberta, Tracy Smolinski (Jeff) and family, Cheryl Luker (Bob) and family, Joanne De Bruyn (Garth) of Ontario, Brian Fisher (Nancy) and family of Alberta, Doug Fisher (Patti) and family of Saskatchewan, and Raymond Fisher (Gilda) and family of Alberta; Carol Perry and her family; many nieces and nephews and special friends, Lady and Kelly. Bob was a heavy equipment operator for Wappel Construction for 25 years. Before moving to Moose Jaw, he helped build the Rogers Pass in British Columbia, Diefenbaker Dam at Elbow, SK., building of the Co-op Upgrader at Regina and many dugouts throughout Saskatchewan. Bob enjoyed dancing, playing guitar and singing, especially western music. He also enjoyed the many family picnics and barbecue’s and visiting with friends and family. The family would like to mention special thanks for the gentle care Bob received at Extenicare and to Dr. Virtue. As an expression of sympathy, memorials to Friends of Moose Jaw Union Hospital, 455 Fairford Street East, Moose Jaw, S6H 1H3 would be appreciated by the family.
