Lillian Joyce Lane
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lillian Joyce Lane on Saturday, October 17th, 2015. Born in Moose Jaw on May 22nd, 1932 to Ernest and Lorna Gray, Lil shared their home with 8 other siblings. She completed her education in Moose Jaw, after which she worked numerous jobs throughout her life. Lil had a passion for hand crafts, making and painting figurines and lawn ornaments, which was evident throughout her property and throughout her home. She spent her life proudly caring for her family members including her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lil enjoyed the company of all those that entered her home and they were always encouraged to stay for a bite to eat, especially at those large family gatherings during the holidays. In her early years she enjoyed many hours at her parent’s cabin at Buffalo Pound Lake. Later, Lil and husband Ed purchased their own cabin, spending every opportunity there with family and friends. It was the place to be! There she spent many an hour working on her flower beds and arranging her lawn ornaments. She was predeceased by her parents, Lorna and Ernest Gray; brothers: Earl, AB and John; and sisters, Clara and Marg. Lil leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 40 years, Ed Lane; sisters, Irene Ehlie, Yvonne (Stan) VanTassell and Pat (Rick) Mills; children: Mike (Kelly), Bev (Dennis), Cheryl, Stewart (Donna), Wendy (Merv), Penny (Kelly) and Robert (Marcia); 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Lil’s Life will be held on Saturday, October 24th, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Harvey Room at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Lil’s name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 1738 Quebec Avenue, Unit 26, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
