Willice George Kurz
Willice George Kurz was born on July 26th, 1925 in the Green Prairie School District, south of Central Butte, SK. He passed away peacefully on September 14th, 2010 at Regency Manor in Central Butte with loved ones around him. Regency Manor had been his home for the past year. Willice was predeceased by his father John Kurz in 1965, his mother Katherine Kurz in 1990, a grandson Eric Kurz in 1999 and two brothers Arthur Kurz in 2009 and Edward Kurz in 2009. Willice is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marie Kurz (nee Milne); his childrenAllan Kurz (Carolyn), Gail Molsberry (Tom) and Ken Kurz (Heather); grandchildren Krista Martens (Ryan), Sheldon (Elaine and daughter Carly), Adam Molsberry (Rebecca), Allison Kurz (Dave), Clayton Kurz, Larissa Kurz; great-granddaughter Haylee Martens; sister Winnifred Ellerman; close family friend Alvin Long and many nieces and nephews. Willice grew up in the Green Prairie School District, going to school there and at Central Butte. He was an avid ball player and coached softball. Willice married Marie Milne in 1951 and moved to the farm northwest of Central Butte where he actively farmed for over 45 years, with a small trucking business added in. He really enjoyed hunting and fishing, being secretary of Central Butte Wildlife Federation for many years. Willice served many years on the Co-op Board and held a life membership in the ODD Fellows and Rebekahs. The joy of his life was his wife Marie and he would “light up” whenever he saw her. Willice enjoyed all the precious moments with his children, encouraging all their interests. His grandchildren will remember his chocolate bar drawer that seemed to be bottomless. He loved a good card game and could really tell a story, he has kept the Kurz family heritage alive. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 17th, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.
