Ervin Denny Krahn
Ervin Denny Krahn, aged 80 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Friday, May 1st, 2015. He was predeceased by his parents, Agnes and Jacob Krahn; brothers, Lawrence and Jacob Jr; and brother-in-law, Victor Dombrowsky. Ervin is survived by his wife, Gloria; sons: Gregory (Rhonda), David (Tammy) and Murray; and daughter, Janette (Terry) Harapiak; his grandchildren were very special to him: Evan and Colin Krahn, Braydon Krahn (Rochelle), Matthew, Hannah and Ava Krahn, Carly and Michael Harapiak; great-granddaughter, Desiree could bring a smile to his face; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ervin was born on a farm in the Herbert area. He grew up and went to school in the same area. Following school, he worked for Marshall-Wells and in 1963, he began to work for the Sask Wheat Pool. He started in Herbert and moved on to Chaplin, then to McMahan, back to Chaplin and finally to Moose Jaw in 1977, where he retired after 28 years with the Pool. He enjoyed sports: ball and hockey as a player and as a referee, and curling, taking part in wheelchair curling as well. He also enjoyed camping and helping farmers, especially in harvest time. On December 31, 1998, his life and the lives of his family and friends were forever changed as he suffered a massive stroke, paralyzing his left side. He was able to remain at home for 5 years and after a second stroke, went to live in Providence Place and later Pioneers Lodge, where he remained until his struggles were over. A special “thank-you” to the staff at Pioneers Lodge. They helped to make his life more enjoyable. Also thank you to family and friends who supported us over the years. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 9th, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor Marvin Seaborg will officiate and a private family interment will take place in Moose Jaw Indoor Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ervin’s name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Sask, 279 3rd Ave N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8.
