Gladys Beatrice “Bea” Koehler

Gladys Beatrice “Bea” Koehler passed away on Sunday, April 12th, 2009 at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital, with family by her side. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 17th, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor Larry Hasmatali will officiate and burial will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. Bea was predeceased by her husband Walter; son Russell William; parents Budd Leonard Lawson and Gladys Evelyn; brothers Ernest, Sonny and Ken; sister Elsie (Vic) Yaschuk; and brother-in-law Robert “Bob” Koehler. She is survived by her children Kenneth (Alphonsine) of Aberdeen, SK., Spencer (Lynn) of Regina, Debbie (Dick) McDonnell of Moose Jaw, Bryan (Lynn) of Edmonton and Kelly (Marcy) of Moose Jaw; grandchildren Briony, Rebecca, Angela, Christopher, Ashley, Samantha, Brittney, Austin, Robin and Morgan; great grandchildren Brittany, Bryden, Braxton, Sam, Tristan, Parker, Jasper and Jordana; brother Barry (Gloria) of Regina; and sisters Viola Wahlund of Moose Jaw, Helen (Ron) King of Moose Jaw, Dorothy McLean of Qu’Appelle, Betty Berg of Lethbridge, AB and Patricia Pardee of Indiana, U.S.A. Bea was born July 23rd, 1930 in Moose Jaw Union Hospital and was raised mainly in the St. Louis, Saskatchewan area. She returned to Moose Jaw eventually where she married Walter William Koehler in 1949. Bea was a devoted mother and grandmother who also worked outside the home after her children were older. She enjoyed bowling, gardening and spending time with family and friends. She was also an incorrigible practical joker. She will be sadly and greatly missed by all who knew her.
