Marjorie Helen (nee MacLeod) Kilkenny
Marjorie Helen (nee MacLeod) Kilkenny passed away during her sleep the night of March 4th, 2009. The Funeral Service for Marjorie will be held on Monday, March 9th, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Father Francis Folleh officiating. Burial will take place in Rosedale Cemetery at a later date. Marjorie was born on October 14th, 1930 in Moose Jaw and lived her whole life in the city she loved and was proud to call home. In 1950, Marj married James Kilkenny and together had two sons, Patrick of Moose Jaw and Jim (Jan) of Regina. Marj’s greatest joy came with the treasured memories of her time spent with her granddaughters Jaclyn (Will) and Jamie. Nana was a great storyteller, a confidante, voracious at cards and crochet. She followed civic politics, listening to Monday Night Council religiously on the radio, never missing a Warriors broadcast and later on an avid listener of late night radio talk shows. Marjorie enjoyed the blessing of lifelong friends, wonderful and caring neighbours and the daily contact and phone calls of those held most dear. Marjorie was predeceased by her parents Alex and Helen MacLeod; her husband James in 1985; brothers-in-law Wilfred Walkeden and Pat Kilkenny; sisters-in-law Marion, Phyllis and Doris Kilkenny. She is survived by her sons and granddaughters; brother-in-law Leonard Kilkenny; and sisters-in-law Dorothy Kilkenny and Eileen Walkeden. Memorial donations in Marj’s name may be made to the Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658 Station Main, Moose Jaw, Sask. S6H 9Z9.
