George James Samuel Kerr (Sammy)
George James Samuel Kerr, aged 47 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Wednesday, November 11th, 2015. Sam was born on November 29th, 1967 to Jim and Jean Kerr in Moose Jaw, SK. He was raised in the Mortlach and Archive District and then in Moose Jaw. He attended school in Mortlach and in Moose Jaw at Lindale School, Ross School and Albert E. Peacock High School. As a child, he was a happy smiling, mischievous little soul. He loved to tease others and especially his female cousins Deanne, Darla, Della and Misty. Deanne and Sam were partners in many escapades as teenagers – Sam was always helping Deanne do things in the city that she couldn’t do at home. He always had a keen interest in mechanics and fixing things – bicycles for himself and the younger neighbour boys, and then cars and trucks. Sam worked in the construction industry as a young teenager with his Uncles Tom and George and then went on to owning his own semi-truck, hauling gravel across Saskatchewan and establishing his company, GJSK Trucking, continuing working with his uncles and step-cousin Mike. Sam married Pam Irwin on July 5th, 2011. He lived a life of hard work, and loved to socialize and play hard when not working. He was predeceased by his grandparents: Sam and Rena Eastwood, and Pat and Myrtle Kerr; father, Jim; uncles, George and Alex Eastwood, and Michael, John, Tom and Robert Kerr. Sam is survived by his wife, Pam Kerr; mother, Jean Kerr; step-father, Cliff Hanson; son, Christopher (Cortanie) Keen; daughters, Kelsey Morrison and Emma Telfer; grandson, Zach; brothers, Micheal (Lori) and Cody (Lyndsay) Hanson; nephews, Levi (Melissa) and Kesler; nieces, Jenna and Ava-Lee; step-children: Natasha, Riley, Savana and Josie; uncles, George (Jane) Kerr and John (Karen) Eastwood; aunts: Mary (Barry) Laporte, Irene (Jerry) Parkhill, Faythe Eastwood and their families; brothers-in-law, Kevin (Kris) and Mal (Michelle); sister-in-law, Sheryl (Dana); as well as nieces and nephews: Misty, Jessie, Josh, Brittany and their children. He was very proud of his children Christopher and Kelsey and their determination to receive a good education, and lays credit to their mothers, Leanne and Danaye, for being there for them and encouraging their endeavours, as well as their undying support for including him in their lives. He will truly be missed and remembered with love. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 16th, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.
