John (Jack) Thomas Kennedy
Kennedy– John (Jack) Thomas Kennedy, aged 85 years of Moose Jaw passed away peacefully on Friday, November 27th, 2009. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, December 1st, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Rev. Betty Bradley officiating. Predeceased by his parents; sisters: Eleanor and Pearl; brothers: James and Charles. Jack will be lovingly remembered by his wife of over 61 years Mary (nee: Steele); children: Pat (Don) of Keeler, David (Loverna) of Calgary, AB and Jill (Alex) of Newmarket, Ont.; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; sister Grace; brother Sam (Bev); sisters-in-law Phyllis, Mary and Irene as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was born December 7th, 1923 in St. Boswells, Sask. He came to Moose Jaw after serving in WWII and worked at the C.P.R., for 38 years retiring in 1983. Jack’s name was very well known to the Moose Jaw Bowling and Fastball communities as a player, coach and builder for over 50 years. Jack was a very proud and active member of the Moose Jaw Lions Club for many years. Jack and Mary left South Hill after living there for over 50 years to reside in Crestview Manor. He loved his new home, friendships and activities there over the past 12 years. Jack’s love of life, family, music and sense of humour will be missed by all. As an expression of sympathy, memorials to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 455 Fairford St. East. Moose Jaw, Sask., S6H 1H3 would be appreciated by the family.
