Henry Samuel Johnson
Henry Samuel Johnson, aged 95 years of Moose Jaw and formerly of Central Butte, SK, passed away on Friday, March 4th, 2016. He was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Sadie Johnson; son, Dale Johnson (1986); daughter, Dianne Drummond (2014); and sisters and brother: Catherine, Wilma, Earl and Helen. Henry is survived by his wife of 65 years, Daphne; son, Earl (Rosemarie) of Vancouver, BC; grandchildren: Matt (Kyla) of Cochrane, AB, Chris of Edmonton, AB, Shawn of Regina, SK and Rob of Vancouver, BC; and sisters, Lucille and Shirley. Henry joined the service and served his country overseas from 1941-1946 as part of the 5th Canadian Anti-Tank Regiment. Upon returning home, he met his lovely wife Daphne Cave and married in 1950. They farmed in the Mawer community until moving to Central Butte. In later years, they moved to Moose Jaw to enjoy their final years. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, March 11th, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor Doug Neufeld will officiate and interment will take place in Sunset Cemetery. Legion Rites will be conducted by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #213. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Henry’s name may be made to the Central Butte Legion Branch #213 or the Alzheimer Association of Saskatchewan Inc, 301-2550 – 12th Ave, Regina, SK S4P 3X1.
